Online shopping, online socializing, why not do your taxes online, too? If you haven’t already made the switch to filing and paying your taxes online, here’s why you should.
- Save money and hassle
If you qualify, you may be able to file your taxes for free using tax preparation software (you can find many of these options through the IRS Free File page). Many of these software programs make filing fast and easy by having you answer questions or fill in information like your income and expenses, rather than walking you through every single field on the tax return.
Of course, there may be times when this isn’t the best option. If you own a business with employees, or if you anticipate your taxes being especially complicated or tricky, you may want to partner with a CPA.
- Take a break and come back later
Filing online means that if you need to leave to run an errand or take a call, you can simply save your information and come back later to finish it. You can also get started while waiting for your tax forms to arrive, and if you discover you’re missing something, no stress: just go find it and come back. Your taxes will still be waiting.
- Get support and answers online
One of the perks of working with a CPA is that you have someone to answer all those tricky tax-related questions. But with TaxGlobal, you can have it both ways. If you get stuck while filling out your return, simply use Taby to search for your question, or get help from our online community of CPAs and tax experts.
- Save the environment
Look, there are a lot of forms to print out if you’re mailing in your tax return. Think of all the trees you could save by filing online! Not only that, but your tax return will get sent in and processed sooner, saving your peace of mind.
- Get your refund faster
When you e-file, your refund goes into your account sooner, usually via direct deposit. If that’s not a great reason to file online, we don’t know what is!
